Westminster secure prestigious contract to supply The Palace of Westminster.
Westminster Group Plc are pleased to announce that our Technology Division has been awarded a contract to replace and maintain the security screening equipment at the Palace of Westminster, together with the provision of other ancillary services.
The contract commencement date is the 1 October 2020 and the duration of the contract is initially for 5 years, although this may be extended. The contract value will not exceed the maximum sum of £1.8 million, subject to what services are provided over the life of the contract. This contract was awarded after a lengthy tender process under which Westminster was rated highest out of all bidders, both technically and commercially.
The project includes the removal of existing systems and the installation and maintenance of new advanced X-Ray Screening and associated systems to screen people and baggage entering this iconic building, together with other ancillary services.
Commenting on the contract award Westminster’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Fowler, said:
