The Consolidation Centre is a logistics centre for all items going “Airside” to the retail units at the Airport, all retailer’s goods go through an X-ray screening and physical search process to ensure that there are no prohibited or restricted items going Airside.
The Consolidation Centre is split into “Landside” and “Airside” all the staff working airside are searched in accordance with the same regulations as the Airport Terminal building, the AvSec security staff training incorporates a number of different facets including X-Ray, Physical Search, Explosive Trace Detection, Vehicle Searching and Sealing, CCTV, and Asset Protection.
