Westminster has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of the first of eight advanced X-ray systems in Malawi, with this first unit now operational at Kamuzu International Airport.
This installation marks a significant enhancement to the airport’s security infrastructure, introducing new state-of-the-art X-ray screening technology. The large XRC 180-180DV X-Ray system is suitable for freight and known for its high-resolution imaging capabilities, providing advanced detection tools for airport security personnel and enabling the swift identification of potential threats and contraband. The remaining seven X-ray imaging systems are scheduled for installation at Blantyre Chileka International Airport.
Westminster is also installing Access Control and a comprehensive CCTV system and Smart Wall. These upgrades are part of a broader initiative to strengthen Malawi’s airport security measures in line with international standards and best practices.
