Westminster CEO, Key Speaker at Major Mexican Summit

Westminster Group CEO, Peter Fowler, was a key speaker on airport security at the 4th Mexican Infrastructure Summit 2015 held in Mexico City on 18th & 19th of February 2015.

The Mexican Infrastructure Summit 2015, now in its fourth year, has established itself as the main conference in Mexico’s infrastructure sector. The event organised by BN Americas and assisted by UK Trade & Investment was held in Mexico City on 18th & 19th February 2015 and brought together more than 250 senior executives, government officials, business developers and vendors.

Through its national infrastructure plan, Mexico is expanding and improving its road, port, airport and railroad infrastructure, and the government is committed to its 2014-2018 national infrastructure plan, with a project portfolio amounting to more than US$100billion including major projects such as the new planned Mexico City airport, the Mexico City-Queretaro high-speed rail, countless roads and highways, and the expansion of Veracruz port.

Westminster’s CEO, Peter Fowler, was invited to be a key speaker on security issues affecting critical national infrastructure in general and the aviation industry in particular. Peter’s speech covered a range of issues including the importance of aviation to world trade, the threats and security issues the industry faces and ways in which such threats can be alleviated or removed.

Commenting on the event Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster Group, said:

“I would like to congratulate the organisers of the Summit for an extremely well run and focussed event and we were delighted to have had the opportunity to be involved, given our experience and expertise in the sector.

“I was particularly pleased to be invited to speak at this prestigious event given that Mexico is a key target market for us and I was most impressed by our new franchise operation, Westminster Mexico SA de CV, who were extremely supportive during my visit. In addition to the Summit, our Franchisee had organised a number of high level meetings with various organisations and government bodies, including airports, and I am very encouraged by the clear market potential that exists in Mexico for Westminster’s wide range of products and services.

“I would also like to pay tribute to the local British Embassy and UKTI who have been, and continue to be, very helpful and supportive of our operations in country.”
