A popular GovNet event was run to Modernise Justice through IT where hundreds of delegates from key sectors attended the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on 9th June 2010.
In attendance were delegates and speakers including: Christopher Hope, Whitehall Editor, The Telegraph; Andy Nelson, Chief Information Officer, Ministry of Justice; Nick Gargan , Deputy Chief Executive, National Policing Improvement Agency; David Kennedy, IT Director, National Offender Management Service; Andrew Watson, Head of Security, Standards & Architecture, Metropolitan Police; David Jones, Chief Information Officer, Crown Prosecution Service; and Bill Hughes, Director – General, Serious Organised Crime Agency, amongst many others.
Westminster attended the conference where Under-Vehicle Security Screening equipment was on demonstration to the speakers and delegates. Inside the venue was a large stand with various interactive equipment on display or demonstrated where possible, such as the B.O.S.S. Body Orifice Security Scanner Chairs, Walk-Through Metal Detectors, Covert Satellite Tracking Systems, Bomb and Phone Frequency Jammers and Portable X-Ray Equipment for unattended bags or vehicle inspection.
Technical Sales Manager, Guy McNeill, whom organised the event for Westminster comments:

With the Government’s Efficiency and Reform Group meeting a mere stone’s throw from the QEII Conference Centre, delegates at GovNet Communication’s Modernising Justice Through IT 2010 conference last week were told by Jan Berry, the Independent Reducing Bureaucracy in Policing Advocate, "If any time is right to make a change, that time is now."
