Martyn’s Law Campaign Gains Momentum with Cross-Party Support

Following the recent 200 mile walk led by Figen Murray OBE, there are promising developments in the campaign for stronger anti-terrorism legislation in the UK.

Martyn’s Law, named in honor of Figen Murray’s son, Martyn Hett, who was tragically killed in the Manchester Arena bombing, seeks to enhance public safety by mandating stronger security measures at public venues. Both Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer have publicly committed to advancing the legislation, with Sunak promising to introduce it to Parliament before the summer recess and Starmer prioritizing it as a key bill.

As the campaign progresses, the focus now shifts to ensuring the government completes the necessary legislative drafts and publicises consultation results.
